The very wealthy became more wealthy in the last 30 years. Reagan cut their taxes and attacked the working class, lowering wages, thereby increasing profits. What did the rich do with their excess wealth? Did they invest in more productive capacity,…

Thank you. I am doing my small part to resist. When asked for my ID, I either refuse or argue, or get it out very, very slowly. If everyone did this, they would stop! It would slow down commerce too much.

The same thing goes for credit card debt. If they sue you, and they can't produce the documentation in court, they don't win. A friend of mine went through that. Unfortunately, the credit card company had the docs. But they don't always!

Dear Wagelaborer,

Great post. I agree wholeheartedly. Most of us in America (including the government) really got "caught up." Now we're experiencing a grim reality check.

Big Government

Obama wants to double the amount of US troops in Afghanistan and is pressuring NATO to supply more, also.

He insists that we must "win" in Afghanistan, but doesn't say what "winning" is. When asked, the military commander states that he has no idea.

But, reading between the lines, as I have learned to do in this Orwellian society we live in, they are trying to establish a US friendly strong central government in… Continue

Sarah Palin - the woman only the brain dead could love

Sarah Palin: Alaska's Dead Wolf Pups Demand Justice!

Target: Alaska Governor Sarah Palin
Sponsored by: Care2.com
This summer, Alaska wildlife agency personnel staked out a known wolf denning site – a practice that is illegal under Alaska law – and, using helicopters, gunned down 14 adult wolves from the air.

When they landed, they found 14 helpless pups in the nearby dens – infant wolves just weeks old – and methodically shot each one in the head. 28 wolves gunned down in all.

Due to a loopho… Continue

An Essay By Cynthia McKinney

This essay on the massive giveaway of the public treasury that the Bush administration is asking for to bail out it's friends in the gambling, oops, I mean, finance and speculation industry, is by Cynthia McKinney, a woman running for President on the Green Party ticket. What? You've never heard of her? Could it be that the same media which sponsors endless debates on what lipstick means doesn't have the time or space to cover serious candidates with programs to benefit the American people and n… Continue

The Wages of Sin is Death, but the Profits on Sin are Fantastic

When did home prices rising yearly become a good thing? In the 70s, it was recognized that housing inflation led to inability for regular people to buy houses. This was considered a bad thing. Rising home prices were bad even for people who owned their homes, because property taxes rose with property value, even if the wages or Social Security income of the owners did not go up. It is absurd to tax people on their homes, instead of their income, but in a system that is dependent on property taxe… Continue

The Difference Between Democrats and Republicans

Many have pointed out that while Americans can choose between dozens of brands of cereal or detergent, we are sternly restricted to two choices for President. Americans who refuse to pick one of the two are excoriated roundly by their fellow citizens, who accuse them of being responsible for every bad thing that happens in the administration of whoever won.

The differences between the two official parties were made crystal clear, though, in the rec… Continue
