so if we elect barack obama, the terrorists win - because they'll kill him?

I'm so confused. By Edward N. Luttwak, a fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and über concern troll:
As the son of the Muslim father, Senator Obama was born a Muslim under Muslim law as it is universally understood. It makes no diffe

the feminine mistake

Last Saturday, Clark County Dems gathered for our county convention to elect our delegates for the congressional district and state conventions. Like any Democratic gathering, it was a zoo: organized in the macro sense, getting everyone badged and out on the gym floor, but turning to chaos when it got down to action. Where was the 49th supporters supposed to caucus? Were the Hillary delegates… Continue

the mentally ill prosecuting the mentally ill

In what sane country would you prosecute a straight-A student with no prior arrests, an obvious psychological problem and a 10-lb. bag of fertilizer for "attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction"?
CHESTERFIELD, S.C. (AP) -- An 18-year-old accused of planning to bomb his high school will be charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, which carries a possible life sentence, the top

it takes a real man

not only to to admit his mistakes, but to do it in his local newspaper:

Jack Hitt: ...Raquel was from Brazil, and came to Florida to see America, and learn to be a nurse. And then she met Derek one night, on the way home from a party, at a gas station. They talked, but it was get

a silver lining?

Our son L. knows how I cherish my few weekly hours with Sam Seder on Sunday afternoons by the way he has to beg to get me out of the house or car. Losing Morning Sedition and the Majority Report was bad, but when AAR put Sam into Al Franken's morning slot it was almost worse: Sam w… Continue

the unseen casualties

It's been five months since Riverbend last posted on her blog, Baghdad Burning; that last post was on her family's move to Syria, joining the 2 million Iraqis who have fled their homes to escape the violence and segregation that have come to dominate everyday life in Iraq. In her last post, Riverbend wrote about Syria's be… Continue

stop the madness

Between Admiral William Fallon's forced resignation and the jerry-rigging of the Iran NIE conclusions to change the focus from uranium enrichment to weapons design, things are not looking good for those of us who desperately want to stop any BushCo action against Iran in the waning days o… Continue
