Women blogging about politics.

How many of you watched the interview yesterday with Mrs. McCain? The word “we” was forever used and I wonder why? She stated her husband and her talk out ever thing before decision are made. Who is running for president? Should “we” be paying better attention to her as running for president? Why is this? Is McCain having trouble with his memory that she has to tell him what side he’s on or what he should do? Now is the time for these answers to be answered before voting date.
As for using McCain record in the military we appreciate his serving his country like many men have and we appreciate all who have done just as well but not recognized. My father served in WWII, my brother served in Vietnam and my son served two tour in Iraq.
First point I would like to make is many Viet.-Nam vets suffered a flashback after 9-11. As a nation we need to give this some though before voting and talk to a vet. Second point I would like to make is what men seen in a year in yesterday wars is seen by our troops in a week. A much harder war to be in and harder impact mentally. Please also think about this before voting. Palin can talk to us after her son has served a few tours in this war and let us know if she even has close to the same son back.
If McCain choose Palin because he wanted the women votes that Hillary had. Well I’m sure all women who have loss their children out of neglect will vote for them in hopes to turn that over too. Please think that whole game plan out too before voting.

Thank you,
Doris Anne Beaulieu

I am deeply concerned regarding the DOUBLED STANDARDS. I was taught that
if you stated a fact and it was misleading to the listener ,and you do not correct it you have LIED.
She ( Palin) stated again last night that she put the plane on ebay, she did,but the truth is that the plane was not sold on ebay.We are told that she sold the plane but at a loss to the people of Alaska. The decision to sell the plane was it a unilateral decision by Palin ? She also gives the impression that she was against the Bridge To NoWhere in the beginning and this is not the truth. She is too comfortable with these "half truths and what is more frightening is the people who are cheering her on.Either they are uniformed or they are proponents of these lies. She is ruthless, ambitious and a poor role model. I will ask again who is nuturing her special needs child while she and her husband are on the auditioning for her role as VP ? Again is ambition wrong ?
NO it is her timing. Her home is in a Major Crisis.Oh, I was also taught to clean
your house FIRST then come on over to mine. She is ruthless and dangerous !!

Hello Joyce,
I agree with you 100%. I feel this has all been a big slap in the face to the American people. We women are strong, but we also have a heart with a better understanding of what is right and wrong. Palin should know better unless she wants to show the American people how neglect is done. My heart is with this poor baby and in the next four years this child will need alot of care. I hope the voters are smart enought to see that, and not put us in this circus of events we have seen the past week.
Thank you for your reply,
Doris

Hello Doris,
I have observed this family since her( Palin's) introduction.I too am concerned
that she has choosen to expose her teenage daughter to the world. All those who say it is none of our concern are correct, but Palin has put it in our face
and then expect us to be silent. She can't have it both ways.

Another concern that I have who is nuturing this child who has special needs?
The father passes him to anyone who will accept him.And the night palin was introduced to us for the first time,The child Bristol was obsviously struggling
to decend the stairs behind her mother( as she Bristol carried her brother)
Palin did not turn around nor did she attempt to assist her child who was carring her baby.Where was the father ??????????????? I have questions regarding
this woman's ambition. Ambition is not wrong it is the timing.....I am not sure if this is true but the bloggers say that she has voted against funding for
special needs children and also against funding for a home for unwed
mothers. And will someone please tell me why was this boyfriend flown to
the convention ??????? Palin's home is in crisis. As a mother who raised two
daughters and worked and there were no major crisis ,I wonder how she does it
ALL with success.

Thank You

Hello Katherine,
I think you may have just hit the nail on the head.

" I think he chose Sarah Palin to excite the Republicans who were rather disinterested in the election. "

I watch when he first introduce Palin and I could see behind the look on the face of Mrs. McCain. Not a happy camper at all. For the likes of me I just can not understand why he choose Palin or why she would run for such a high demanding job with her baby that surely needs her. I also watch her give her speak and saw the baby being handed off to the daughter by her husband. I felt a deep sadden hurt in my heart for that poor baby who's Mom is choosing not to be with. She can lobby like the rest of us for disabled children without pushing hers aside like this. There is something very wrong with this whole picture and nothing about it all feels right. Two months before voting is surely not enough time for voters to check this picture out. Thank you for your reply.

Doris, it sounds like you have much first hand knowledge of returning veterans. If McCain chose Palin for the woman's vote it was a particularly useless choice. There are many ex hillary supporters who are still angry with the way Hillary was treated. BUT, not enough to make a really big number. No, I think he chose Sarah Palin to excite the Republicans who were rather disinterested in the election. Most republicans probably thought it was in the bag for Obama. Now...with Sarah Palin on the ticket, not so much. However, in my view, the DNC and Obama must be taught that women have a big voice and will not be silenced or told to vote for a candidate that they feel was chosen for them by the party. So if we sit this one out, that is one vote gone. If we vote for MCain, that is two votes that matter. We just can't let the DNC run the party and run the strong women out.
