Why Republicans don't see the need for change?

I cannot make any sense of this...

Times are though:
• the economy is at its worse ever
• the country is in a war we don't belong in
• our people in Louisiana were left for dead and are still without homes
• the government is bailing out out huge corporations while our pocketbooks are empty
• our fellow Americans are loosing their homes everyday
• our jobs are going to other countries
• we are all in over our head with debt
* we pay more for healthcare and get less coverage
• women rights are being threatened
• the USA is demoralized throughout the world
• we feel less and less safe
• we distrust our government more
* the government is larger than ever

With such tough times one would think that change is a must. Obviously the way the country is being run is not the best way, it is clearly not working. As a woman, and prone to logical thinking this answer comes easy to me.

Does it come easy to my fellow Republican women friends?

No I don't think so.

I have yet to meet a Republican (men or women) that admits that things are in bad shape and that their guy and his administration are mostly responsible. I have yet to meet a Republican that will cross the line and vote for a real change.

All the ones I know, say that the Democrats create big government (clearly not the truth), they say that Democrats raises taxes (Bush the 1st, Read my lips comes to mind), Palin too (she did not raise income taxes but raised sales taxes which hurts everyone, not just the rich), they all say that Democrats are bad for small business (with my work history that is not the case, in fact business has been in a sharp decline since Bush took office), they tell me that Democrats control the media (these people must not have a TV), they tell me the exact opposite of what I see and researched.

My Republican boss (a woman) even had the balls to tell me today that the economy goes in waves. According to her, It was bad, then it improved, then it got bad again. I thought to myself, Bush, Clinton, Bush. Coincidence she said. No matter what people say, during Bill Clinton's years I bought a home, a car, had less debt, my money went further. Crazy? Humm. I doubt it.

I would like to know what is it that makes Republicans stick to their guns and not falter?

With the country getting in worse shape everyday and the American people poorer,
why do Republicans vote Republicans even when the ship is sinking?

Claudia if you ever find that answer let me know. I have a few Republican friends with whom I simply cannot not discuss politics. No matter what issue comes up they send me an email referencing Chappaquiddick.

The evangelical televangelist Rod Parsley has a saying: "The Devil is lying well and the Church is telling the truth badly." Well to turn a phrase the Republicans have spun their mythology well and the Democrats tell the truth very badly.

Claudia, being an outsider I can only say that it seems people are more likely to stand behind their political Party than to what the Party or they really stand for. There are a lot of good things about the Republican Party believes. But, unfortunately it seems that their leaders in power have been terribly mistaken on their decision making. The world is not the same anymore and the Republicans seem to be living in the past, especially regarding the global economy, I would say. I really hope for better times in the US and for that I strongly believe that changes must be in place.
