Giving Thanks for the Men and Women Serving in the US Armed Forces

For ten years, I flew throughout the world working as a Flight Attendant. For five of those years, much of my life was spent flying MACs and CAMs in and out of "hot spots" in the world. Panama, Africa, the Middle East, South America, Central America, Turkey, Athens, Europe...if American troops needed to be somewhere or return from somewhere, the airline I worked for most often carried them to and fro.

I express my thanks to God every day for the brave men and women who serve in the military, but today, as we approach Thanksgiving, I dedicate this space and this time to them. Please take the time to watch this wonderful video and say an extra prayer of Thanksgiving for the men and women who have served in the past, are serving today, and will be serving in the future. God bless and protect them all.

Penny, I'm certain many of those military men and woment remember you. The pilot's job, of course, is important but your job was of equal significance in that you offered comfort, graciousness and warmth. Kindness is not forgotten. It lives forever in the heart of the recipient.

While attempting to board a plane, my husband and other members of his unit were held at gunpoint for about 6 hours while being interrogated. I can only imagine how valuable your kindness would have been to them.

I have the utmost respect for our Special Ops forces. It must have been an honor knowing you were serving our Navy Seals. I don't know whether you like to read but 'Shooter' is an excellent book written by Donald A. Davis. The language is a little rough but it is an autobiography of a marine. You may find it especially interesting because it takes place in the Middle East.

I won't think of our soldiers without remembering you, too. I hope you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving.

I flew in an out of the Persian Gulf for about a year -- every Tuesday to and from a military base in Sicily. This was a little less than 2 years before Desert Storm. The most interesting part was how many Navy Seals we flew into that area. That and being an American flying American military into the same area the Iranian airplane was shot down.

I was surprised to hear you were a flight attendant. My brother is a pilot. My best friends son is a pilot and has his own plane. It is a small plane and he does 'angel flights'. None of this is relevant to your post. I just find it interesting to know or be in contact with a good many people associated with aviation at some level.

My husband served in the Persian Gulf war. This is a beautiful tribute to the men and women serving our country. Thank you so much for sharing this video. It is much needed reminder to keep those serving in the military, as well as their families, in our thoughts and prayers each day.
