As of today guns are allowed in bars and restaurants serving alcohol in the great state of Arizona. So, we drink, drive and pull the trigger. But not only that, we can also point our guns when threatened and that is not intimidation.
To some, evolution doesn’t exist; some things never change, so why move forward? In Arizona going back in time is what makes sense, once an Old West, always an Old West.
The law in effect today allows people with concealed-weapons permits to bring their guns into bars and restaurants that haven't posted signs banning them. That is good news, right? After all, we do need our firearms in bars and restaurants. And besides, that is nothing to worry about the mix of alcohol and gun, the law is specific: “Those carrying the weapons aren't allowed to drink alcohol”. Sure. Just like nobody drinks and drives and there are no car accidents.
This privilege it is not only to those who live in Arizona. A similar law took effect in July in Tennessee. And the National Rifle Association says 41 states now allow guns in businesses that serve alcohol.
Do firearms defend more than harm? I don’t know. But I would think that it might be justifiable to have such a powerful defense in favor of weapons only if the data proved that the incidents harming people were close to none, which is not the case.
It is a shame that in order to be using our senses to become more civilized and peaceful, we are increasing animosity and fear. This constant state of war should stop, and should stop overseas and in our towns, bars and restaurants. I don’t want go back in time where disagreements where solved at a gun point. I just can’t support such an initiative.
